Housing Officer

GreenSquareAccord is looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Housing Officer to join our Localities Team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with housing management experience who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.

About the role

Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham. (Covering the Borough of Walsall)

Salary: £33,400 + £750 car allowance

Working hours: 37 hours

As a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy management services across our communities. Working closely with customers, colleagues, and partner agencies, you will help sustain tenancies, resolve neighbourhood issues, and support safer, cleaner, and stronger communities. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role where no two days are the same.

You`ll manage a varied caseload including:

  • Tenancy management and sustainment
  • Anti-social behaviour (ASB) case management
  • Estate inspections and neighbourhood management
  • Tenancy audits, fraud investigations, and tenancy changes
  • Partnership working with local authorities, police, social services, and support agencies
  • Supporting vulnerable customers to maintain successful tenancies
  • Managing emergency transfers, decants, and customer complaints.

About you

We`re seeking an organised, resilient, and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of housing management.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in housing or tenancy management
  • Knowledge of housing and tenancy law
  • Experience managing ASB and tenancy enforcement cases
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers and external agencies
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use

Desirable:

  • CIH membership or housing qualification
  • Experience preparing legal documentation
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and social housing regulation
  • Experience using housing management systems such as MRI
