A West Midlands housing provider is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join their team on a temporary basis for a minimum of 2 months. Managing a diverse housing portfolio across the Midlands, the organisation is committed to creating safe, sustainable and thriving communities for its residents.
Your new role
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality estate management service across a varied housing patch. You will work closely with residents, contractors and partner agencies to ensure neighbourhoods remain safe, well-maintained and welcoming.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing communal and external areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation.
- Overseeing grounds maintenance, cleaning contracts and estate improvement initiatives.
- Investigating and resolving environmental issues including fly-tipping, abandoned properties, pest control and anti-social behaviour concerns.
- Carrying out estate inspections and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Managing fire safety actions and supporting wider building safety programmes.
- Liaising with local authorities, police, contractors and other stakeholders to resolve community issues.
- Building positive relationships with residents and supporting tenancy sustainment.

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in an Estates Officer, Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer or similar housing management role.
- Strong understanding of estate management, health and safety, and neighbourhood services.
- Experience of tenant liaison & customer service.
- Experience managing contractors and monitoring service delivery standards.
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex tenancy and environmental issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
