Description

We are recruiting for a Housing Resettlement Administrator to join our Housing team. You will be responsible for supporting the team deliver a safe, supportive, and person-centred service for young people and vulnerable adults accessing YMCA East Surrey’s housing; providing administrative support to the Housing team, focusing on accurate record-keeping, compliance, and void coordination between residents, housing officers, management, and external agencies. As a part-time position, tasks will be prioritised in consultation with the Housing Operations Manager to ensure consistent administrative support across the service.
This role requires someone with a minimum NVQ Level 2 standard qualification or equivalent in housing, social work or youth work (or willing to complete alongside their job role within the next twelve months.)
You must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle with a valid MOT (where applicable), vehicle tax, and insurance that includes business use. Documentary evidence of these requirements will be requested at the interview stage.
Working Hours: 21 hours per week, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch. Ideally spread across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, flexibility will be considered. Its a Fixed Term Contract role.
Pay: £17,472 per annum
Key Responsibilities
- Handle enquiries by phone, email, and in person, ensuring a professional, trauma-informed, and empathetic approach.
- Support residents to move on from YMCA East Surrey Housing accommodation, internally and externally with the aim to source suitable accommodation, providing support, advice, and long-term solutions through internal moves, private rented sector, social housing and resettlement.
- Support the onboarding process for new residents onto the Housing Register (collecting documents, updating systems, monitoring applications).
- Assist residents with basic administrative tasks such as completing forms, booking appointments, or signposting to services. Support the referral process by logging applications, requesting missing information, and coordinating with referrers.
- To support clients in accessing and maintaining private rented accommodation through a Deposit Guarantee scheme, including providing help with relevant housing and benefit forms.
- Support move-out processes by following the Move On Policy, updating systems, tracking outcomes, and assisting the team with resettlement documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of resettlement plans, interventions, and outcomes.
- Assist in preparing documents for move-on applications (e.g., housing options, private rented, supported pathways).
- To log details of enquiries, applications and tenants on to a database as required and keep accurate records of work with clients observing the data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Track tenancy sustainment and follow-up contacts where required.
- Liaise with external partners, housing teams, and local authorities to support the resettlement process.
- To have a full and clean driving licence and access to a car.
- Other duties which may be required as requested by Housing Management.
