Salary:

  • Trainee starting salary - £37,017.76 p.a.
  • Fully trained - Salary £40,115.40 p.a.

Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, EN8 9XQ. Bishops College,

Contract: Permanent

Working pattern: Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week.

Housing Solutions Officer (Homelessness) - Ref: HSO

This is a great opportunity for you to join the innovative and ambitious Housing Solutions Team at Broxbourne Council. We have trainee and officer level positions available, so whether you are an experienced housing professional, or looking to progress your career in housing, we are keen to hear from you.

In this customer-facing role, you will work alongside dedicated and experienced colleagues, interviewing, and assessing those at a risk of homelessness. You will manage a caseload of clients, working collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to give advice and provide solutions. This is a varied and challenging role, and the rewards of helping households resolve their housing needs make it a great career choice.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a Local Authority or in a housing or homelessness setting, and knowledge of the relevant legislation, although transferable skills would be considered for the trainee position.
  • Highly motivated, with a genuine interest in helping people.
  • Previous experience working in a customer-facing role is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent spoken English skills.
  • Good written and analytical skills.
  • A GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Full driving license.
