About the Role

In this dynamic and multifaceted position within the Housing and Support team, you will play a critical frontline role—the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities span exceptional customer service, safety protocols, reception duties, and welcoming new members.

Key aspects of the role:

  • First point of interaction for residents, public, and new deternees
  • Supervisor of first aid, fire safety, and health & safety compliance
  • Delivery of high-quality housing and support services
  • Active representation of YMCA St Paul’s Group values in daily operations

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Engagement

  • Provide consistently exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents, families, and the public.
  • Handle a wide range of inquiries (logistical, administrative, and welfare-related) with empathy and clarity.
  • Open and close interactions with residents, visitors, and external partners in a professional yet friendly manner.
  • Represent YMCA St Paul’s Group in welcoming meetings, community events, and helpdesk duties.

Reception & Administrative Tasks

  • Manage incoming calls, emails, mail, and appointments, ensuring smooth communication channels.
  • Oversee payment processing (rent, services, deposits) and repayments.
  • Coordinate property maintenance requests and liaise with technicians for equipment and facility repairs.
  • Organise and maintain a clutter-free, secure reception area.

Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness

  • Act as first aider on-site, familiar with CPR, medical emergencies, and onsite medical equipment (if applicable).
  • Hold fire marshal duties, including weekly fire safety checks, patrols, and evacuation procedures.
  • Monitor health & safety risks (latest guidelines and compliance) within the facility.
  • Report and respond to concerns about anti-social behaviour, safety hazards, or support needs promptly.

Support & Wellbeing

  • Provide compulsory reports and escalation procedures for residents experiencing crises or wellbeing concerns.
  • Support amenness said housing advisors with onboarding new residents, orientzations, and transitional support.
  • Monitor the conditions of wellbeing centres and allocation housing for timely intervention.

Team & Community Collaboration

  • Work closely with housing advisors, volunteers, and partner agencies to meet support outcomes.
  • Contribute to team productivity by maintaining documentation, records, and compliance logs.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuity planning.
