HR Administrator – Sureserve Compliance Fire
Sureserve Compliance Fire, part of the Sureserve Group, is a specialist in Life Safety compliance services. Through design, installation, maintenance, and monitoring of fire safety and electrical systems, we deliver fire and electrical compliance and testing services, covering a comprehensive range of physical infrastructure and safety considerations necessary for buildings to meet regulatory requirements. As a leading provider in the public sector, our success depends on a market-leading, engaged, and highly skilled team. We are constantly seeking skilled and self-motivated individuals to join us.
About the Role
We seek a dedicated HR Administrator to provide professional, accurate, and effective HR administration support across the organisation. This role will involve supporting both the HR department and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring meticulous handling of confidential information in line with GDPR regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
- Ensure completion of the onboarding process for new starters, including:
- Verification of Rights to Work in the UK
- Processing insurance forms
- Collection of driving licence details, references, and completed application forms
- Submitting DBS applications and escalating relevant concerns to the Senior HR Business Partner
- Maintain accurate HR records, verifying data consistency in HRIS.
- Manage the leavers process, including updating HRIS, issuing termination letters, and liaising with payroll.

HR & Administrative Support
- Act as the administrative point of contact for the Senior Leadership Team, including:
- Coordinating diaries, communications, and confidential documentation
- Supporting minute-taking for meetings
- Preparing offer letters, contracts of employment, change notifications, and leavers letters
- Respond to HR-related queries, escalating complex issues to the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Log and manage sickness absence, holiday requests, and compliance records.
Recruitment & Reporting Support
- Assist with recruitment activities, including:
- Uploading job ads
- Liaising with managers and recruitment agencies
- Collating and escalating metrics for HRIS-based board reporting
- Provide HR system troubleshooting to colleagues.
- Support self-service HR initiatives for line managers.
Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and promptly.
- Assist with HR projects (e.g., well-being, learning & development).
- Support low-level employee relations (ER) issues.
- Oversee HR email inquiries, escalating as necessary.
Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Administrator or similar HR support role.
- Hands-on experience with the entire employee lifecycle, including:
- Onboarding (contracts, DBS checks, insurance, verifications)
- Leavers process (termination paperwork, refunds, handover)
- Payroll liaison for starters, leavers, and contractual changes
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks underwater deadlines.
- High accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with confidential data.
- UK employment legislation awareness and compliance with HR best practices.
- Professional, discreet communication, capable of handling sensitive information.

Desirable Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 CIPD in Human Resource Practice (or equivalent) is desirable.
