HR Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Administrator to join a charitable housing association that provides affordable homes and delivers care, support, and community services to help residents live independently and build stronger communities.

As an HR Administrator, you will provide comprehensive HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring HR processes, systems and services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with employment legislation and internal policies.

This is a fixed-term contract (4 months) with the possibility of extension, offering a pro-rata salary of £34,550 and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR enquiries, providing guidance and escalating complex issues where required.
  • Manage the HR inbox, responding promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Administer recruitment and onboarding, including contracts and pre-employment checks.
  • Support HR systems administration, user training, and process improvements.
  • Process payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate employee changes.
  • Produce HR reports, including payroll, absence, and workforce data.
  • Support performance management and employee relations administration.
  • Administer employee benefits, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure HR records and electronic filing systems remain current and well-organised.
  • Support updates to HR policies and maintain awareness of employment legislation changes.
  • Handle confidential employee information with the utmost discretion.

Requirements & Experience

We are seeking applicants with:

  • Previous experience as an HR Administrator, Recruitment Administrator, HR Assistant, HR and People Services Administrator, or in a similar support role within human resources.
  • Ideally generalist HR experience in a corporate or voluntary sector setting.
  • Hands-on experience with HR systems and databases.
  • A CIPD Associate Level qualification or equivalent (or currently working towards CIPD Level 3), reflecting dedication to ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of employment law and best practices in HR, with a commitment to fairness and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I), and their impact on the workplace.
  • Advanced IT skills, proficiency in office software, and the ability to effectively use HR/recruitment platforms.
  • Numeracy skills to accurately enter data and perform basic payroll calculations.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and end-of-employment processes.
