Tozers LLP is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth, and Newton Abbot. We deliver extensive legal services to businesses and individuals—both locally and nationally—and are ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK directories across multiple practice areas.


About the Role

As part of the Human Resources team, you’ll uphold the firm’s commitment to delivering an exceptional service to every colleague. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Entering and updating information on HR information systems
  • Managing interactions with applicants through applicant tracking systems
  • Handling confidential data with accuracy and integrity
  • Assisting with new starter inductions (in the absence of the HR Coordinator)
  • Supporting all aspects of learning and development administration

The role is predominantly based in Exeter, with opportunities for occasional remote working and travel to our Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offices. Standard working hours are 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM, though occasional adjustments may be required for annual leave coverage.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of confidentiality in HR contexts
  • Is empathetic, attentive, and service-oriented
  • Has experience delivering excellent customer service (whether in person or digitally)
  • Displays clear communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with people
  • Possesses strong IT skills (Excel, applicant tracking systems, HR management software are a plus)
  • Exhibits resilience in a fast-paced environment

This role is ideal for apprentices newcomers to HR, individuals with CIPD Level 3 qualifications, or professionals looking to hone their organisational and administrative skills in a supportive team setting.

Essential Requirements

  • Familiarity with data input in Excel (required for maintaining compliance databases)
  • Strong written communication skills (email-based responsibility core to daily tasks)
  • Baseline understanding of applicant tracking systems, DocuSign, or HR IS tools (experience a bonus)
