Job Description
Job Summary
CROWN Packaging Manufacturing UK Limited is seeking a proactive HR Administrator for a maternity cover position. This role provides essential administrative support to the HR department, ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations.
The position is based at our Botcherby Plant in Carlisle and is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
The Botcherby Plant is a major supplier of aluminium beverage cans, producing approximately 1.4 billion cans and over 6 billion ring-pull ends annually. The site operates 24/7 and plays a key role within our global operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join a multinational organisation.
Responsibilities
Administer the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and changes to employment terms. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, both digital and physical, in compliance with data protection regulations. Support the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and issuing offer letters. Handle HR queries from employees and managers, escalating complex issues to the HR Manager as needed. Generate HR reports and statistics as required. Support the HR team with various projects and initiatives. Manage employee absence records and provide related administrative support. Assist in organizing and coordinating HR-related meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications
Proven experience in an HR administrative role, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels. A sound understanding of HR best practices and relevant employment legislation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly. CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR qualification is desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
