About the role
We're looking for a customer-focused HR Adviser to join our HR Services team on a fixed term contract until May 2027. This role provides end-to-end HR advisory and operational support to employees, managers, candidates, third parties and colleagues across a broad range of HR services. Deliver excellent customer service through the resolution of HR queries, administration of HR processes, maintenance of HR systems and data, and continuous improvement of services, processes and self-service resources. Support delivery of a compliant, efficient and customer-focused HR service.
As a key member of the HR Services team, you'll be the first point of contact for employees, managers, candidates and third parties, providing advice and guidance across a wide range of HR policies, processes and systems. You'll play an important role in delivering a positive employee experience, ensuring queries are resolved efficiently, accurately and compliantly.
In this role, you will manage a wide range of HR enquiries, providing timely and accurate advice to employees, managers and candidates while taking ownership of customer queries through to resolution. You will support learning management and training administration, ensuring employee learning records remain accurate, and maintain high-quality employee data within HR systems to support reporting, compliance and wider business requirements.
Working collaboratively across the HR Division, you will help deliver a seamless customer experience, contribute to the development of HR self-service resources and knowledge content, and support the monitoring of service performance against agreed service levels. You will also play an active role in HR projects, system enhancements, testing activities and continuous improvement initiatives, while keeping up to date with HR best practice, employment legislation and regulatory requirements to ensure an effective and compliant HR service.
About you
You’re a HR professional who has an innate interest and passion for Human Resources. You have an understanding of key HR functions and processes, either gained through work, or having completed your CIPD L3 qualification. Your effective communication skills ensure that you’re able to liaise confidently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, always delivering excellent customer service. You’re proactive, organised, and know how to prioritise your workload effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
