HR Advisor

HR Generalist – Manufacturing Site

About the Role

Acting as the standalone HR representative on site, this position delivers a comprehensive, end-to-end HR service, combining both operational execution and strategic support.

  • Partners closely with site leadership to drive people initiatives, ensure UK employment legislation compliance, and maintain alignment with UK and EMEA HR frameworks.
  • Independently manages all HR activities, including:
    • Employee relations
    • Recruitment
    • Payroll coordination
    • Learning and development
    • Employee engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all employees and managers
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigations
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process (e.g., onboarding, inductions)
  • Coordinate and administer payroll and benefits, ensuring HMRC compliance
  • Maintain and update HR systems (Oracle/People Inc) while ensuring GDPR compliance
  • Produce and analyse HR reports, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Manage absence and wellbeing processes, including occupational health coordination
  • Develop, maintain, and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Track and support training and development plans
  • Lead and support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
  • Participate in site management meetings and provide HR insights for business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal HR standards

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

Essential:

✅ Proven experience in a HR Generalist or standalone HR role ✅ Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR processes ✅ Experience in employee relations case management ✅ Payroll administration experience and knowledge of HMRC requirements ✅ Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications ✅ CIPD Level 5 certification (minimum requirement)

Preferred:

✔ Experience in manufacturing and/or unionised environments ✔ CIPD Level 7 qualification or working towards it ✔ Degree in HR, Business, or related discipline ✔ Experience supporting multi-site operations
