HR Advisor – National Distribution Centre, Rotherham
About the Role

We are seeking a HR Advisor to join our team in Rotherham, based at our new National Distribution Centre. This hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote) requires an employee relations specialist to handle complex cases, provide strategic guidance, and support a multi-site workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume employee relations cases from initial intake to resolution, ensuring timely compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Conduct root-cause investigations into complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters, interviewing stakeholders and assessing credibility of claims.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on disciplinary processes, performance management, and conflict resolution while fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and implement tailored action plans, including disciplinary policies, performance improvement plans (PIPs), or corrective measures.
- Deliver training to managers on employee relations best practices, conflict resolution, and workforce engagement strategies.
- Monitor and support absence management, collaborating with occupational health if required, to align with organisational policies.
- Ensure consistent alignment with AAG’s group-wide values and initiatives across local sites.

Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate:
Minimum Experience
- 2+ years in employee relations or HR advice
- Advanced CIPD Level 5 qualification
- Proven ability to manage high caseloads in fast-paced environments with measurable success
Core Skills
- Exceptional organisational prioritisation to juggle multiple urgent matters while meeting SLAs.
- Crystal-clear communication—simplifying complex issues for employees at all levels.
- Analytical rigour combined with practical problem-solving to recommend compliant, practical solutions.
- Empathetic interpersonal approach to build trust with diverse stakeholders (employees, managers, leaders).
- Strong experience with large-scale change projects (e.g., restructuring, process redesign).

Practical Requirements
- Ability to travel on-site as needed when supporting multi-regional teams in the UK/Ireland.
- Flexibility to balance individual casework with strategic HR initiatives.
- Discerning judgement to identify escalation points while promoting fair procedure.
