HR Advisor - Retail

Are you in Retail Management, CIPD qualified (or currently working towards it), and looking to make the move into a Head Office HR role?

If so, this could be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for. These roles really are like gold dust and don't come around very often.

We are partnering with a well-established retail business to recruit an HR Advisor to join their close-knit People team. They're genuinely open to considering experienced Retail Managers who are ready to take that first step into HR, as well as HR professionals looking for a broader generalist role.

If you've spent your career leading teams, managing employee relations, coaching managers and putting people first, you've already built many of the skills needed to succeed in HR.

What you'll be doing

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days look the same. Working closely with the Head of HR, you'll be involved across the full employee lifecycle, including:

  • Providing first-line HR advice and support to managers across retail, warehouse and head office.
  • Supporting employee relations cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance and flexible working.
  • Managing onboarding, probation reviews, employee changes and HR administration.
  • Supporting recruitment across retail, warehouse and head office, from advertising roles through to interviewing and onboarding.
  • Maintaining HR and payroll systems, ensuring employee records are accurate and up to date.
  • Producing HR reports and using people data to identify trends and support business decisions.
  • Supporting HR projects, policy updates and continuous improvements across the People function.
  • Building strong relationships with managers and becoming a trusted HR partner across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
