HR Advisor – London HQ & UK Retail Support

The HR Advisor provides practical, delivery-focused HR support across the London HQ and UK retail population, ensuring people priorities, processes, and plans translate into daily action. This includes advice, employee relations, and operational activities.
Responsibilities
Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring consistent, policy-compliant HR delivery:
- Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees in London HQ, escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
- Manage employee relations cases including:
- Performance and conduct issues
- Absence management
- Grievances and informal resolutions
- Coach managers on HR processes, policy applications, and effective people management.
- Advise on onboarding, contractual changes, probation, family leave, flexible working, departures and transition.
- Work with the HR Assistant to maintain accuracy in:
- HR administration
- Employee records
- System data (ensuring timely updates)
- Compose high-quality documents, including:
- Letters, meeting notes
- Case documentation
- Employee communications
- Support cyclical HR processes such as:
- Performance reviews
- Talent development
- Engagement surveys
- Reward and compensation (ensuring deadlines are met)
- Use data trends to:
- Spot recurring issues
- Assess manager needs for capability development
- Propose process improvements
- Coordinate with Payroll, Benefits and Talent Acquisition to ensure seamless employee transitions and onboarding.
- Collaborate on HR projects, policy updates, engagement initiatives, and local communications as needed.
- Promote fair, consistent, and inclusive HR practices across London HQ and UK retail teams.
- Handle confidential employee information with utmost discretion, adhering to GDPR requirements.

Requirements
Essentials
- Experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and confidence advising on employee relations.
- Proficiency in preparing:
- HR documentation
- Letters
- Meeting notes
- Case records
- Exceptional communication skills, able to build trust with managers and employees.
- Practical, solutions-focused mindset, with strong judgment to escalate when required.
- Organisational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive employee matters.
Desired
- Experience using HR systems, such as SuccessFactors.
