We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ more than 300 employees across the two companies, Express Engineering (Gateshead) and Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech).
We Are Hiring: HR Advisor
We are currently seeking an exceptional HR Advisor to join our team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow with our company.
Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the role will support all group companies.
Main Duties
- Managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns from vacancy approval through to offer and onboarding
- Managing apprenticeship, work experience, and early careers programmes, delivering our continued commitment to new talent development.
- Coordinating internal and external training activities and maintaining training records.
- Monitoring mandatory training compliance and supporting the administration of learning systems.
- Supporting workforce planning, succession planning, and performance appraisal initiatives.
- Providing support and coaching to line managers on employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary, and grievances processes.
- Supporting the development of internal communication initiatives that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected to the business.
- Producing HR metrics and insights to support business decision-making.
- Providing day-to-day HR advice to managers and employees on policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the HR Strategy through the delivery of HR projects and initiatives

Requirements
To be successful in this HR Advisor role at Express Engineering, you will:
- Be able to establish and maintain influential relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Experience coordinating onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer, or similar generalist HR position.
- A sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment and knowledge of a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
- CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
