HR Advisor – HCPC
Are you ready to build your HR career in a role where your work truly matters? We are hiring at the HCPC, a purpose-driven regulator protecting the public, and we are seeking a passionate HR Advisor to play a key role in delivering high-quality HR support across the organisation.
About the Role
At the HCPC, every role contributes to safeguarding the public and upholding standards in health and care. As an HR Advisor, you'll be at the heart of our people function, supporting managers and employees with practical, timely advice and ensuring core HR processes run smoothly.
You'll work closely with the HR Business Partner and wider team, gaining exposure across the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, payroll, and people data. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to deepen their generalist experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear and practical advice to both managers and employees
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment activities, including onboarding and employer branding initiatives
- Advising on employee relations matters, such as probation, capability, and disciplinary cases (with guidance from the HR Business Partner)
- Supporting the monthly payroll process and maintaining accurate HR data and records
- Producing workforce reports and insights, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Keeping HR policies and procedures up-to-date and accessible
- Supporting engagement activities, exit interviews, and absence management processes

Requirements
We are looking for an HR professional who combines strong HR foundations with a proactive, customer-focused approach. Essential qualifications and skills include:
- Experience in an HR advisory role, with exposure to employee relations, recruitment, and HR processes
- Knowledge of onboarding, payroll administration, and HR systems
- Confidence working with people data and HR databases
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice (CIPD Level 5 or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory for the main criteria)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and professionalism
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently
