THE OPPORTUNITY – HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR The HR Advisor supports the provision of HR advice, processes, policies and coordination, with the aim of delivering a timely, consistent and credible HR service across all business areas. Location: Barrow-in-Furness Duration: 2-year contract Contract Type: PAYE Day Rate: TBC - For your application to be progressed, please ensure you provide a PAYE day rate banding expectation. Please note that there is no travel and accommodation allowance provided. Please only apply if you have existing right-to-work in the UK. Please outline notice period/availability to start. Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference. AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT… In role, you will be required to: Act as a first point of contact for employees via the HR email inbox, ensuring that they are fully aware of policies and processes, and provide responses and guidance in line with Spirit Energy’s HR policies and practice. Drives all day-to-day and common HR queries and requests for information through the HR email inbox to ensure a common, efficient and accessible process. Manages the HR inbox and related required paperwork and takes ownership of upkeeping the HR Pipeline pages. Supports the recruitment and headcount process, including providing support for managing requisitions in Workday, engaging with the MSP and tracking headcount approvals. Acts as the point of contact for leavers, ensuring they have the information and support they need. Supports the HR Lead to manage and resolve straightforward employee relations issues. Works closely with our external Occupational Healthcare provider in support of our sickness absence management process. Liaises with the employees impacted and OH managers to ensure a smooth and considerate process. Works closely with our external Occupational Healthcare provider in support of substance misuse testing. Liaises with the employees impacted or contracting companies to ensure a smooth and considerate process. Thereafter supporting the implementation of the correct HR policy and process, if required, following testing results. Work closely with our external Payroll provider to ensure all monthly changes are processed accurately and efficiently and communicated as needed. Deals with payroll queries, liaising with Finance and external providers as needed. Deals with Workday queries and requests, regular releases, management surveys and management of data in Workday. Co-ordinates the long service awards processes and associated actions. Any other associated duties as reasonably required ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, we are looking for: Someone with robust knowledge of applicable HR regulations and standards, as well as Spirit Energy HR policies and practices. Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel Experienced Workday user preferred Excellent organisational and collaboration skills Strong contextual understanding of the business and using this to learn to understand how to develop people solutions to business challenges and risks. Knowledge of HR disciplines and the role HR plays in organisations. Keeps up to date on developments in the HR profession.
