About the Role
An established organisation who I have worked with on a number of occasions are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / HR Officer to join its busy People team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources generalist to work in a fast-paced environment where you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across recruitment, employee life cycle administration, HR systems, and employee relations.
Your New Role

- Managing recruitment and onboarding activities, including drafting and posting adverts, coordinating interviews, issuing contracts, and supporting hiring managers
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing use of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Maintaining employee records and processing changes through the HR Information System (HRIS), including new starters, contractual changes, and leavers.
- Producing HR reports and monitoring key people processes such as probation reviews.
- Providing first-line HR advice to managers and employees on policies and procedures.
- Supporting employee relations activities, including note-taking at formal meetings and managing employee administration.
- Assisting with HR communications, intranet content, and service desk enquiries.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
