How You'll Make a Difference

The HR Casework and Change team enables the council to deliver effective people management by providing consistent, practical and solutions-focused HR advice and support.

As an HR Advisor, you will use your knowledge and expertise to provide high-quality generalist HR guidance across a range of employee relations matters. Your support will focus primarily on sickness absence, probation and performance management, as well as advising on disciplinary and grievance cases.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Working collaboratively with Senior HR Advisors and managers across the HR service, you will provide timely, practical advice and support to employees and managers at all levels, helping to achieve effective case resolution while minimising risk to the organisation.
  • You will support the delivery of workforce change projects, including facilitating appropriate consultation processes with employees, trade unions and other key stakeholders.
  • It will be key for you to monitor the team's inbox, responding to enquiries promptly and initiating casework where required.
  • Using your research and analytical skills, you will gather, interpret and present information clearly and accurately to support decision-making within your service area.
  • It will be your responsibility to effectively administer and maintain casework documentation, ensuring records are accurate, up-to-date and managed in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
