If you’re a HR Officer/HR Advisor with experience in law firms or professional services looking for a new challenge, then our client would love to hear from you.

The exciting role is a full generalist HR Advisor/Office position supporting a senior HR Manager and with huge amounts of autonomy and stakeholder management.

Our client is a well-respected, mid-sized international law firm with offices across the UK, but this role is based with their HR team in Southampton, but ideally with some flexibility to attend their other offices occasionally. They work hybrid, 3 days per week in the office, and have an incredibly collegiate and supportive culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role is broad and varied, but there is a strong focus on the wellbeing and ER side, so they will expect this person to be confident and experienced in leading complex ER matters without supervision, as well as the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with gravitas and confidence.
