HR Advisor
HR Advisor (London HQ & UK Retail) – Pentland Brands
About the Role At Pentland Brands, every role drives our brands forward. As an HR Advisor, you’ll provide hands-on support across award-winning brands—including Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury, Endura, Ellesse, Kickers and Mitre—ensuring consistent HR excellence for our London HQ and UK retail teams. Your work will deliver practical solutions across employee relations, operational HR, and impactful people strategies, shaping better ways of working for a global team of over 15,000 employees.
You’ll partner with managers and colleagues to turn HR priorities into real, impactful actions, from Advisory to Employee Relations and beyond—day-to-day, and beyond.
What You’ll Do
Your role will include:

First-line HR support & escalation
- Deliver clear, consistent HR advice across the London HQ and UK retail population.
- Manage employee relations cases including performance, conduct, absence, grievances, and informal resolutions, working closely with the Senior HR Business Partner when needed.

Employee lifecycle support
- Lead and coordinate onboarding, contracts, probation, family leave, flexible working arrangements, and offboarding processes.
- Work with the HR Assistant to ensure HR data, documentation, and system records are accurate, secure, and up to date.

Case & administrative excellence
- Draft letters, meeting notes, case documentation, and employee communications to a high professional standard.
- Maintain compliance with legislation, company policies, and GDPR, ensuring complete confidentiality.

Process improvement & training
- Coordinate annual HR cycles (eg. performance, talent, engagement, and reward) ensuring deadlines are met and issues escalated proactively.
- Identify recurring HR issues and process improvements through data and case trends.
- Provide training for managers on HR policies and best practices for people management.

Collaboration & partnerships
- Partner with Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Benefits teams to ensure a smooth onboarding and employee lifecycle journey.
- Assist with HR projects, policy refreshes, employee engagement initiatives, and internal communications as required.

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an experienced HR professional with:
- Relevant experience in HR advisory or a similar generalist HR role (with an emphasis on Employee Relations).
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law—experience advising on performance, contracts, grievances, and discipline matters.
- Practical HR delivery skills
- Ability to prepare HR documentation, letters, meeting minutes and case records with clarity and professionalism.
- Strong confidentiality and judgement—safely handling sensitive employee information.
- Clear communication skills
- Experience coaching managers on HR policies, process, and people management.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving
- Use data trends to find solutions—from process improvements to HR risk mitigation.
- High‐level organisation
- Juggle multiple cases simultaneously, managing timelines effectively.
- Desirable but not essential
- Experience using HRIS platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors.
- Bonus attributes
- Competence in power‐point analysis and visual presentation.
