We’re looking for an HR Advisor to assist various contracts across two sites in Birmingham. We are looking for someone to be based at our site in Merlin Park, who can drive a culture of positive engagement whilst confidently juggling multiple priorities — from advising stakeholders on HR issues and managing Trade Union relationships, to leading communication strategies, supporting recruitment and induction, and ensuring retention and redeployment activities meet statutory and company requirements.
This is a part-time, permanent position where you’ll be working Monday – Friday, between the hours of 09:30 – 14:30.

We’re looking to pay £21,000.00 per annum with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata). What you’ll do on a typical day:
Support, coach and advise key stakeholders on all HR issues, including discipline, grievance, absence management and performance improvement Assist in devising and implementing colleague communication and engagement strategies at site level Deal with Trade Union representatives on all employee related matters on a daily basis and with Full Time Officials as appropriate Contribute to the provision of systematic and effective recruitment, selection and induction processes, involving the recruitment team where appropriate Co-ordinate and manage the HR activity required to ensure that retention and redeployment activities are executed in line with statutory and company requirements Support a reduction in the potential for costly litigation by conducting regular and effective site HR reviews
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Experience of working in a similar fast-paced HR team, ideally within a logistics or distribution environment, dealing with complex ER cases Previous experience of dealing with Trade Union negotiation is highly desirable CIPD Level 3 qualified, or working towards Experience of undertaking a broad range of tasks including working with and advising line managers on employee relations issues and being involved in setting up processes and systems Knowledge of employment law with experience working within a unionised environment is highly desirable
