The Role
About the Role
The HR Advisor will play a critical role in delivering exceptional HR guidance to our UK customers, helping them navigate complex employment challenges with confidence.
You’ll be an autonomous yet resourced professional, supported by our nimble, high-performance team. This is an opportunity to grow your own career while making meaningful impacts for hundreds of businesses.
Key Focus Areas
- Workplace Advice
- Deliver clear, practical HR advice via calls (9 AM–5 PM), Zendesk Support, and email, helping clients address common queries and refine internal HR Advisory resources.
- Ensure timely, professional escalations to the HR Manager or legal team as needed, ensuring disputes and claims are handled appropriately.
- Stay updated on UK employment law changes to provide the most compliant and relevant guidance.
- Maintain authorised contact listings in our systems and update details as required.
- Schedule regular client check-ins to proactively address challenges and strengthen business-Employment Hero relationships.

HR Policy & Compliance Support
- Draft, review, and maintain HR templates, letters, and policies tailored to diverse industries, ensuring legal compliance and business relevance.
- Conduct detailed HR compliance reviews for client policies and templates.
- Update internal resources timely to reflect changes in employment law.
- Assisting in creating and distributing informative email content for client updates and engagement.

Promotion & Innovation
- Support the Sales team in demonstrating HR Advisory’s value during prospect calls.
- Contribute educational HR content for engagement, sales, and the Help Centre/EH blogs.
- Design/oversee the creation of termination guides, FAQs, and social media resources.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with micro businesses to SMEs, providing tailored HR support.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws/policies across industries, informing compliant, adaptive HR strategies.
- Experience in not-for-profit sectors, particularly relating to trade unions, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), or settlement agreements.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent certifications.
- Strong handles UK employment legislation and tracks updates.
- Great communication with quick-thinking problem-solving skills.
- Time management with ability to manage multiple projects.

Desirable Criteria
- Available to start ASAP.
- Experience supporting Scottish employers in their HR practices.
- Familiarity with Zendesk and Google Workspace is a major plus.
