About the role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our UK HR team and support colleagues and managers across BIP UK and our wider UK businesses.
This is a broad, hands-on role providing high-quality HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. You will act as a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees, helping to ensure our people processes are delivered consistently, efficiently and in line with employment legislation and company policy.
Working within a fast-paced and evolving professional services environment, you will support a varied range of employee relations matters, performance and absence management, organisational changes and wider HR initiatives.
The role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships and providing pragmatic, commercially aware HR advice.

- Provide timely and practical HR advice to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters.
- Support and advise on employee relations cases including performance management, absence, conduct, grievances and capability.
- Guide managers through HR policies and processes, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
- Support formal meetings and processes where required, including preparing documentation and maintaining accurate case records.
- Identify potential employee relations risks and escalate more complex or sensitive matters appropriately.
- Keep up to date with changes in UK employment legislation and support the continued development of HR policies and practices.
Employee lifecycle
- Support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to development, internal moves and exit.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition, HR and operational teams to support a positive and consistent joining experience.
- Support probation, performance review and promotion processes.
- Conduct or support exit interviews and help identify themes and opportunities to improve employee experience and retention.
- Ensure employee changes and documentation are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Performance, wellbeing and absence
- Support managers in addressing performance concerns constructively and consistently.
- Advise on short- and long-term absence cases and support effective return-to-work processes.
- Work with managers and relevant external providers where occupational health or additional support may be required.
- Promote employee wellbeing and help managers identify appropriate support for colleagues.
HR operations and reporting
- Maintain accurate employee records and support the integrity of HR data and systems.
- Produce and contribute to regular HR reporting, identifying trends and areas requiring attention.
- Support annual and cyclical HR processes including performance reviews, salary reviews and employee engagement activities.
- Help improve HR processes, templates and ways of working to create a more efficient employee and manager experience.

Projects and wider HR initiatives
- Support the delivery of wider people initiatives across BIP UK.
- Contribute to projects relating to employee engagement, inclusion, wellbeing, culture and organisational change.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance and business operations.
- Support the development of a consistent employee experience across BIP’s UK businesses.
About you
You will be a confident and approachable HR professional who is comfortable working with managers at different levels of an organisation.
You are likely to have:
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting employee relations cases and advising managers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to challenge constructively and provide clear, pragmatic advice.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- Good judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Experience working within consulting, professional services or another fast-paced environment would be advantageous.
CIPD qualification or progress towards a relevant qualification would be beneficial but is not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
What success looks like
Success in this role will mean managers feel confident and well supported in managing their people, employees receive a consistent and positive HR experience, and people matters are handled efficiently, fairly and with appropriate commercial judgement.
You will also play an important role in helping the HR team continuously improve how we support a growing and evolving UK business.
