HR Analyst

HR Data and Insights Analyst – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham Business Park

About the Role:

Dalkia UK are seeking a full-time HR Data and Insights Analyst to join their HR team.

  • Job Purpose:

    The HR Data and Insights Analyst will deliver high-quality people data, reporting, and workforce insights to enable evidence-based decision-making across Dalkia UK.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Developing HR dashboards and analytical solutions.
    • Driving workforce planning through data analysis.
    • Ensuring data quality and HR technology optimisation.
    • Supporting strategic HR initiatives with predictive insights.

    The role collaborates closely with the Head of HR Operations, HR teams, Finance, IT, and business leaders to transform people data into meaningful organisational impact.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting & Insight Generation:

    • Develop and maintain HR dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and real-time workforce insights.
  • Data Analysis:

    • Analyse workforce data (particularly headcount, turnover, absence, recruitment, diversity, and engagement) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, informing workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Data Governance & Compliance:

    • Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, and GDPR compliance while resolving issues and maintaining reporting standards.

  • HR Systems Management:

    • Maintain HR systems infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and accessibility, with seamless integration across business systems.
  • Technology & Automation:

    • Support the optimisation of HR systems and encourage adoption of technology, AI, and automation to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Performance & KPI Measurement:

    • Develop and monitor HR KPIs, providing performance analysis to measure the effectiveness of people initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent, Employee Experience, Finance and operational leaders to deliver actionable insights that align with strategic objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Streamline reporting processes while fostering a data-driven culture within the organisation.

  • Reporting Quality:

    • Accurate and timely reporting with high dashboard adoption and improved data quality.
  • Impactful Insights:

    • Deliver predictive analytics and achieve high stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Automation & Efficiency:

    • Increase automation, tool adoption, and system efficiency through digital solutions.
  • Compliance & Issue Resolution:

    • Maintain high data accuracy and meet standards while resolving issues within set timelines.

  • System Performance:
    • Ensure HR systems remain available, reliable, and performing well, supporting successful delivery of enhancements, upgrades, and integrations.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and insights generation.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI or comparable platforms).
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, understandable insights.
  • Experience working with HR and business systems alongside structured data management.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and communication.

Desirable (but not required):

  • Experience with HR systems (e.g., iTrent, Workday).
  • Knowledge of SQL, AI tools, or workforce-planning methodologies.
  • Experience in multi-site environments.
