HR Apprentice
People Apprentice – Supporting People & Culture

About the Role
As a People Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting our People Team and helping deliver an excellent employee experience across the organisation. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment support and onboarding to People administration, data management, and employee engagement.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about people, eager to learn, and excited to build a career in HR.
What You’ll Be Delivering
- Provide People administration support:
- Assist with day-to-day People Team admin (e.g., maintaining employee records, preparing documents, and keeping systems up to date).
- Support recruitment processes:
- Help with posting job adverts, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Assist with onboarding:
- Prepare employee documentation, conduct background checks, assemble welcome packs, coordinate induction activities, liaise with IT, and ensure smooth start-ups for new employees.
- Maintain People systems and data:
- Update employee information, run basic reports, and ensure data accuracy across HR platforms.
- Support work experience placements:
- Liaise with schools/universities to complete required documentation and arrange inductions.
- Manage recruitment/People inbox:
- Respond to emails in a friendly and timely manner, directing enquiries appropriately.
- Assist with engagement activities:
- Help organise wellbeing initiatives, events, surveys, and internal communications.
- Support compliance and documentation:
- Ensure files, right-to-work checks, and policy documents are accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to People projects:
- Get involved in improvement projects, new processes, and system updates as part of your development.
- Learn and develop:
- Actively participate in apprenticeship training, applying new knowledge to your day-to-day work.

What You’ll Bring With You
Requirements
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and maths.
- Curious and eager to learn – A genuine interest in HR and a desire to grow quickly.
- Empathetic and people-focused – Able to listen, understand different perspectives, and support colleagues with care.
- Positive and proactive – Brings energy to take initiative and help without being asked.
- Organised and reliable – Keeps tasks on top, follows processes, and can be trusted with details.
- Adaptable and open-minded – Happy to switch tasks, learn new systems, and embrace change.
