Job Title: HR Programme Manager

Department: School of People and Skills Development

Salary: Competitive

Location: Fully home-based, with travel required for client meetings, team meetings and conferences.

Contract type: Full time and permanent

Job Purpose

To manage quality delivery and learner support of all HR Apprenticeship Programmes, including the activities outlined below. The role will focus on the line management of HR coaches, quality assurance of coaching and assessment, learner support and EPA (End Point Assessment) strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Manage the delivery of HR apprenticeships in accordance with the school’s management procedures and guidelines.
  • Line manage and support the team of HR coaches, encouraging an ethos of teamwork, sharing of good practice and continuous professional development.
  • Conduct fortnightly 121 meetings with individual Coaches.
  • Undertake monthly case load reviews with each coach, with particular focus on apprentices with limited and insufficient progression, and overdue completions.
  • Recruit HR coaches with the knowledge and experience to deliver high-quality coaching and implement onboarding timetables to support their induction to the role and to BPP.

Delivery

  • Ensure all first day of learning evidence is acquired for apprentices.
  • Deliver induction and EPA webinars as agreed with the HR Programme Lead.
  • Work collaboratively with Client Services teams and Account/Relationship Managers as required.
  • Be the point of escalation when Learner Engagement policy.
  • Work with specified high-risk apprentices, as required, to help them to successfully complete their programme.

Quality Assurance

  • Undertake fortnightly quality assurance of Coaches including evaluation of marking, reviews of progress review write-ups and checks on learner folders.
  • Conduct quarterly Management Observation of Coaches in progress reviews.
  • Work with HR coaches to ensure that the BPP Global Tracker is up-to-date.
  • Maintain understanding of Ofsted requirements in the delivery of apprenticeship programmes.

End Point Assessment (EPA)

  • Set an effective delivery and assessment strategy to adequately prepare apprentices for EPA.
  • Instil effective instruction, support and simulation to give apprentices the best chance of success at EPA.

Essential

  • Experience of coaching HR apprentices at all levels.
  • Experience supporting apprentices through End Point Assessment.
  • CIPD qualification.

Desirable

  • Previous line management experience.
  • Experience supporting HR apprenticeships / CIPD qualifications.
  • Relevant HR industry experience and/or qualifications.
  • Line Management experience of Apprenticeship Coaches.
  • Previous IQA experience and/or appropriate IQA qualifications.
  • Appropriate Coaching Qualification.
