Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. As our HR Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping us recruit and onboard dedicated volunteers who enable The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) to deliver essential services to women, children, and families across Wolverhampton.
- By supporting our recruitment process, you will help us attract talented and committed individuals who contribute to projects such as our Baby Bank, community support programmes, and other vital services.
- Your work will help reduce recruitment delays, improve the volunteer experience, and ensure new team members are welcomed and equipped to make an immediate impact.
A well-organized recruitment process allows our staff to focus more time on delivering frontline support to families in need, while ensuring we continue to grow a strong, reliable volunteer workforce. Every successful volunteer you help recruit strengthens our ability to respond to increasing community needs.

What Are We Looking For?
Our ideal volunteer will have
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) or similar software.
- The ability to manage tasks effectively and meet agreed deadlines.
- A professional, friendly, and approachable manner when communicating with applicants and colleagues.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A willingness to learn, follow procedures, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Previous experience in HR, recruitment, administration, customer service, or office support is desired. We provide training, guidance, and ongoing support.

What Will You Be Doing?
As a Volunteer HR Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our recruitment and onboarding processes, helping us attract and welcome volunteers who make a real difference to women and families in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include
- Posting volunteer opportunities on recruitment platforms.
- Screening applications and shortlisting suitable candidates.
- Coordinating interviews with hiring managers and applicants.
- Maintaining recruitment records and applicant tracking spreadsheets.
- Supporting volunteer onboarding by preparing documentation and sharing induction materials.
- Following our recruitment procedures to ensure a smooth and organized process.
- Assisting with weekly recruitment updates and administrative tasks as required.
You will work closely with our HR team and receive guidance, training, and ongoing support throughout your volunteering journey. Your contribution will help us recruit and retain dedicated volunteers, enabling WFRC to continue delivering vital services to women, children, and families across our community.
