Human Resources Associate – 12-Month FTC (London)

The Role

We are looking for a talented and organised HR Associate to join our Human Resources team in London on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTE). This role will provide efficient, impactful HR support across all employee lifecycle stages—from onboarding to retirement—while upholding a strong employee value proposition and maintaining a positive employer brand.

You’ll work closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, and Payroll teams, with an emphasis on payroll processing and employee benefits administration. Success in this hybrid workplace depends on your excellent administration, organisational, and communication skills, as well as your ability to drive continuous improvement.


Core Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • First-line HR support for managers and colleagues on:
    • General employee relations and scalability-related questions
    • Clear, accurate, and timely issue resolution

  • Payroll administration:

    • Handling all payroll-related input activities
    • Payroll verification and reconciliations
  • Employee lifecycle management:

    • Preparing and distributing contracts of employment and associated documentation for new starters
    • Maintaining records in the HR Information System (HRIS) for start dates, salary changes, and other updates
    • Co-ordinating leaver procedures, including managing exit interviews and related Management Information (MI)
  • Benefits administration:

    • Processing risk benefit claims (e.g., PMI, Childcare Vouchers, Cycle-to-Work Scheme, Season Ticket Loans, Eye Care Vouchers)
    • Long Service Awards coordination
    • Managing monthly Benefits joiners-leavers and updating all relevant providers with changes
  • Reward and Recognition Cycles:

    • Supporting the HR Services Manager with:
      • Annual salary and bonus reviews
      • Benefit elections
  • Process improvement:

    • Championing cost-effective and user-friendly HR system efficiencies
    • Driving initiatives to enhance team productivity and user experience

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in HR administration
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll processing (bonus if hands-on experience exists)
  • Advanced computer literacy, including:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating teamwork and a proactive attitude
  • Proficiency in adapting to change and performing under pressure

Desirable Attributes & Qualifications

  • Knowledge/understanding of Financial Services, particularly requirements under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR)
  • CIPD qualification (make eligible)
