Strategic HR Business Partner (Part-Time) - Medical Workforce Leadership

About the Role

This strategical HR Business Partner role enables you to collaborate with senior leaders while delivering workforce planning, organisational change, and people strategies within a complex, unionised environment, specifically supporting a medical workforce. The ideal candidate will oversee consultations, manage intricate employee relations issues, and provide expert HR advice to drive both people and business goals.

  • A medical workforce or the NHS context
  • Supporting organisational development, employee relations, and unionised environments

An exciting part-time opportunity (0.5 FTE) at a progressive organisation in Wolverhampton.

Key Details

  • Salary: £58,266 (full-time equivalent) – £29,133 pro rata @ 0.5 FTE
  • Contract: Permanent, part-time
  • Hours: ~18.5 hrs/week (3 days in-office, flexible options available)
  • Location: Wolverhampton (2–3 days per week required onsite)

Description

A high-visibility HR Business Partner role, working closely with senior stakeholders to:

  • Deliver effective people strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Drive workforce planning and organisational change initiatives
  • Provide strategic HR advice and guidance

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to advise on people strategy, workforce planning and organisational transformation
  • Lead workforce planning and manage organisational change programmes within a unionised, medically complex environment
  • Handle complex employee relations cases and formal consultation processes
  • Use workforce data and insights to inform decision-making and support business objectives
  • Build trust with stakeholders to drive positive people outcomes while maintaining strategic HR alignment

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must have:

Essential Criteria

✔ Comprehensive HR Business Partner experience (particularly within complex organisations) ✔ Direct experience supporting a medical workforce or in the NHS (highly desirable) ✔ Strong knowledge of employee relations and consultation frameworks ✔ Proven expertise in workforce planning and managing organisational change ✔ Experience in unionised environments and formal consultation processes ✔ Excellent relationship management and influencing skills with senior leaders ✔ Ability to balance strategic and operational priorities effectively
