HR Business Partner

HR Business Partner – London (Multi-Site & Field Based)

Location: London (Field-based with regular travel) Reporting to: Head of HR

About The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded HR Business Partner to join our fast-paced, people-led business, focusing on supporting the London region. This varied and high-visibility role involves partnering closely with Operations Managers, acting as a trusted advisor on all aspects of the people agenda.

You’ll blend strategic insight with hands-on support to:

  • Drive employee engagement
  • Build leadership capability
  • Strengthen talent pipelines
  • Ensure people practices enhance performance and culture

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with Operations Managers to align people strategy with operational and business goals
  • Support the Head of HR in delivering the People Strategy to meet long-term business objectives
  • Lead key initiatives in:
    • Recruitment & retention
    • Engagement & development
    • Succession planning
  • Regularly visit venues to:
    • Embed best practice
    • Support high-performing teams
    • Provide operational feedback on people practices
  • Evaluate impact of learning and development interventions
  • Conduct on-site observations to ensure consistency with company standards

Employee Relations

  • Provide expert guidance on complex issues:
    • Grievances
    • Disciplinaries
    • Investigations
    • Welfare for salaried venue staff
  • Coach and support Operations Managers in resolving people issues effectively and consistently
  • Identify ER trends and proactively:
    • Reduce case volume
    • Upskill leaders

Talent Management & Development

  • Work with Operations Managers to:
    • Identify hiring needs & talent gaps
    • Lead regional talent planning
    • Develop succession & capability programs
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development (L&D) on targeted training interventions

Compliance & Policy

  • Ensure strict adherence to:
    • UK employment law
    • Company standards & processes
    • Policies and procedures
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies
  • Monitor mandatory training compliance and regulatory requirements

HR Data & Analytics

  • Use people data to inform decisions and continuous improvement
  • Analyse key metrics:
    • Turnover
    • Absence
    • Engagement trends
    • ER performance
  • Maintain HR systems & records
  • Generate actionable insights from performance & behavioural trends

Project Management

  • Lead and deliver HR projects aligned with the People plan
  • Manage:
    • Timelines
    • Budget risks
    • Stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for successful execution
  • Ensure clear documentation and project reporting

Requirements

Skills & Traits

  • Strong influencing skills—able to challenge and support senior stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach with commercial awareness
  • Exceptional coaching, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • High emotional intelligence and discretion in handling sensitive matters
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Solid HR Business Partner experience in hospitality (or a similar multi-site, fast-paced industry)
  • Proven track record supporting multi-site operations with Operations Managers & General Managers
  • Experience handling complex Employee Relations (ER) cases
  • Experience delivering HR projects and contributing to people strategy
  • Exposure to Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives
  • Desirable: Experience with Harri ATS and Fourth Hospitality systems
