About the Role

The HR Business Partner works across several areas within Addison Lee to build and implement a cohesive people agenda that can respond and adapt to the changing environment.

The role holder will be proactive in identifying and subsequently working on initiatives that shape and improve the Addison Lee employee experience – this can range from evolving the recognition and benefits offering, to evolving Addison Lee’s people management framework and policies whilst ensuring belonging is considered at all stages of the employee journey.

The role holder also acts as a sounding board and advisor to managers and senior managers on a range of people matters, the escalation for complex employee relations matters, supporting with restructuring and other HR projects as needed. In addition to this, the role holder will manage a HR Advisor, based in Peterborough.

The role is a varied and interesting one that would suit someone solution-minded who has substantial HR generalist experience and employment law knowledge, high empathy, resilience, and business acumen with an eagerness to always improve on “the way things are done”. The role holder needs to think in a partnership manner yet still keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

Salary

£55,000 - £65,000

Location

This role is based at our head office in Paddington (hybrid working available) with travel to our Liverpool office once a month.

Reporting Lines

This role reports to the Head of HR.

Main Accountabilities

  • Lead on the development and implementation of people plans and solutions for their areas of business
  • Provide advice on people related matters to management including but not limited to policies and procedures and employee relations
  • Maintain the headcount tracking against agreed budget across the organisation, challenging as required to maintain actual and proposed spend against forecast, aligning with Finance
  • Proactively review and analyse people data identifying trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, employee experience etc.
  • Input to all annual HR processes, e.g. pay review and bonus, talent planning etc.
  • Challenge and influence across Addison Lee, navigating different styles and personalities to build trusted and credible partnerships
  • Partner with the Head of HR to ensure full visibility of the HR function across the wider Addison Lee organisation.
  • Lead in the development of the HR Advisor, supporting their career development as required.
  • Develop and maintain compliance of company people policies and procedures.
  • Keep the business up to date with employment law changes and action appropriate changes as required.

Requirements

  • Considerable experience as a true HR generalist providing HR support to a changeable and fast-moving business
  • Substantial employment law knowledge and a thorough understanding of HR best practice
  • Commercially aware with a constant value add focus

  • Exceptional listening and communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Detail and data oriented who can translate insights back to the business and into tangible action plans
