Are you ready to challenge “HR as usual”?
Are you an HR professional who refuses to accept box-ticking, process-for-process-sake HR? Do you thrive on challenging the status quo, influencing managers and driving real organisational performance?
At Convergence Group, HR isn't a support function that simply reacts to issues. Our People Team is a key driver of business growth, management capability and organisational performance. We believe in adult-to-adult relationships, and managers taking ownership of their people responsibilities. Our role is not to manage people on behalf of managers - it's to coach, challenge and equip them to lead effectively.
We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who can build credibility quickly, think commercially and partner with leaders to strengthen teams, develop talent and support long-term success.
What It’s Really Like Here
The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically around 30% greater than many people will have experienced elsewhere - not because we are chaotic, but because we are ambitious and constantly building. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating, improving and raising the bar. The landscape evolves, priorities shift, and expectations rise. If you prefer a predictable, static environment, this probably won’t feel comfortable. If you are energised by growth, movement and high standards, it can be deeply rewarding.
Your strengths will have a bigger platform here - and you will be stretched behaviourally more than in most environments. We value respectful honesty: anyone can challenge an idea; hierarchy doesn’t protect thinking and getting it right matters more than being right. Ego doesn’t perform well here; curiosity, learning and ownership do. We hire people who are already strong at their craft - the stretch at Convergence Group is navigating pace, complexity and constant evolution. This environment isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it offers an exceptional opportunity for impact, growth and accelerated development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
