HR Business Partner

Are you a strategic HR professional eager to make a meaningful difference in a fast-paced, people-driven environment? We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our People, Culture & Experience team, partnering closely with senior leadership to drive performance, engagement, and growth.
About the Role
As our HR Business Partner, you’ll play a central role in shaping and executing the site’s people strategy. Working directly with the Site Director and Leadership Team, you’ll provide expert guidance, drive cultural initiatives, and ensure operational excellence across all HR functions.
This is a high-impact, strategic, and hands-on role, where influence and growth are key. You’ll shape decision-making, enhance employee experience, and help position the site as an employer of choice.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnering & Workforce Planning
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver the Group People Strategy
- Lead manpower planning, organisational design, and succession planning
- Identify talent gaps and collaborate with recruitment teams to address them proactively
- Drive change management initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Employee Relations
- Lead and support complex employee relations (ER) cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability)
- Monitor absence trends and implement proactive interventions
- Ensure compliance with employment law, policies, and procedures
- Build strong relationships with unions and employee forums

Engagement, Culture & Wellbeing
- Champion employee engagement, wellbeing, and recognition programmes
- Lead DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives and drive participation across the site
- Strengthen community partnerships, including schools and local organisations
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with company values
Learning & Development
- Drive development planning, performance reviews, and talent frameworks
- Coach and mentor leaders to build capability
- Support early careers programmes, apprenticeships, and training initiatives
- Maximise the use of development resources, including levy-funded programmes
Systems, Data & Compliance
- Maintain accurate HR systems and workforce data
- Produce insightful KPI reports to inform decision-making
- Lead HR input into audits and ensure full compliance with standards

Essential
- Proven experience in HR Business Partnering
- Strong background in employee relations within manufacturing or FMCG
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent experience
- Experience with HR systems (e.g., ResourceLink, SAP)
- Leadership or coaching qualifications
