Home based with travel - Midlands & North of England

Looking to move beyond a traditional HR advisory role?

We’re looking for an HR professional who enjoys variety, building relationships, and helping businesses navigate people challenges. This role would suit someone currently working at HR Advisor level who wants to gain wider exposure across consultancy, projects, employee relations, and client-facing work.

Joining Make UK’s HR Consultancy team, you’ll work with a broad range of clients, supporting them with practical HR advice and hands-on project work across all areas of people management.

The Role
You’ll support and deliver HR consultancy services to both members and external clients, providing straightforward, commercially focused advice that works in the real world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising managers on employee relations issues
  • Supporting HR projects from start to finish
  • Reviewing and updating policies and handbooks
  • Carrying out HR audits and gap analysis
  • Supporting DSARs and compliance work
  • Delivering training on people management topics
  • Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their business needs

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a generalist or advisory HR role and be comfortable supporting managers with employee relations matters.
  • A good understanding of UK employment law and the ACAS Code of Practice
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach
  • Someone who can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team
  • Previous consultancy experience would be helpful, but it’s not essential.
