HR Consultant

Salary: TSAT Pay Group 6 pro rata to £35,598–£42,377 for hours and weeks

Contract: Temporary Closing Date: 12th July 2026 Start Date: As soon as possible Interview Date: To Be Confirmated (TBC)

Job Overview

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied role where you can make a real difference to schools, leaders and staff?

Thinking Personnel are seeking to appoint an HR Consultant to support their next stage of growth.

This full-time role (working term time plus two weeks) provides planned HR capacity across internal TSAT priorities and external clients.

The contract is fixed-term to 31st August 2027, supporting ongoing growth within the organisation.

Flexible Working Options

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for complex employee relations, including:

    • Investigations
    • Formal hearings
    • Restructures
    • Absence management
    • Capability/professional capability
    • Conduct matters
    • Grievance proceedings
  • Deliver clear, practical HR advice to school leaders to help them manage people matters confidently, fairly, and consistently.

  • Manage sensitive HR matters independently while providing sound judgement and professional conduct.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experienced HR professional with strong emphasis on employee relations.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in high stakes scenarios.

Preferred but not compulsory:

  • Experience within the education sector, including:
    • Schools
    • Academies
    • Multi-academy trusts
  • Exposure to restructures, redundancies, TUPE or organisational change.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible role with occasional travel between TSAT offices, academies, and external client sites.
  • Predominantly remote working, dependent on service demand.
