HR Director

HR Director / People & HR Consultancy Opportunity

About the Opportunity

Based in the West Midlands, this role supports clients across Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, and surrounding areas. You'll provide HR leadership and strategic guidance to SMEs and entrepreneurs, delivering experience-driven People strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of HR solutions including:
    • Business & strategic HR planning
    • Culture change & transformation
    • Change management
    • Leadership development
    • Organisational design
    • Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)
    • Wellbeing initiatives
    • Learning & Development (L&D)
    • Talent Management
  • Full accountability for managing your portfolio of clients, ensuring first-class HR support across all levels.
  • Partner with our Regional Director and marketing team to attract and retain new clients.

Requirements

Core Skills & Experience

  • Strategic HR leadership: Proven experience in shaping business strategy and execution on behalf of executive teams and boards.
  • Business consultancy expertise: Ability to spot opportunities, influence at all levels, and deliver commercially viable solutions.
  • Ideally: CIPD Level 7 (L7) qualified, with equivalent alternative in industry or academia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: A proven track record of leadership, relationship-building, and stakeholder management.
  • Medium-sized business credibility: Experience resonating with business owners and influencing directors.
  • Technological competency: Open to adopting AI and emerging technologies, with a passion for efficiency-improving innovations.
  • Commercial pragmatism: Balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
