Capgemini UK HR Director

Capgemini UK is seeking a highly experienced HR Director to partner a complex and diverse portfolio of UK business lines. Reporting directly to the UK HR Director, this role sits at the heart of the UK HR leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping and delivering the people agenda across multiple business units and operating models.

This position supports a combined employee population of c.3,800 people across consulting, applications, delivery, and specialist business units, operating within a highly matrixed environment with both UK and global interfaces. The role requires strong strategic judgement, hands-on leadership, and the ability to operate credibly with senior leaders across the business.

Your Role

As HR Director for a broad and varied set of UK business areas, you will lead and deliver the people agenda in alignment with Capgemini’s country and group HR strategies. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, ensuring people priorities support business performance, client delivery, and long-term capability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as strategic HR Business Partner to senior leaders across multiple UK business units.
  • Setting and driving the people strategy for the portfolio aligned to UK and Group HR direction.
  • Providing leadership across workforce planning, talent management, succession, reward, engagement and employee relations.
  • Partnering with leadership on organisation design and capability planning.
  • Driving culture, engagement and inclusion across a hybrid workforce.
  • Using people data and insight to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
  • Operating effectively in a matrixed HR operating model.
  • Contributing to wider UK HR leadership activities.

Skills And Experience

  • Proven senior HR leadership experience in large, matrixed organisations, ideally technology or consulting.
  • Strategic mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on delivery approach.
  • Strong stakeholder influence at executive level.
  • Deep experience across talent, workforce planning, organisation design and employee relations.
  • Experience supporting employee populations of 3,000+.
  • High integrity, discretion and strong commercial judgement.
  • Comfortable operating across UK and global business contexts.

Leadership & team context

The role provides leadership and oversight to a team of HR Business Partners and HR professionals aligned to the business portfolio, within a matrixed structure.

Hybrid working

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
