HR Employee Relations Advisor
HR Employee Relations Advisor (Maternity Cover)
Location: York outskirts, North Yorkshire
- Salary: £28,500 – £32,000 per annum (pro rata)
- Job Type: Fixed-term contract (~7-12 months)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible start & finish times)
- Commutable from: Malton, York, Sheriff Hutton, Sutton-on-the-Forest, New Earswick, Strensall, or Huntington
- Work Pattern: Office-based (own transport required)
About the Role
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions seeks a proactive and approachable Employee Relations Advisor to join a supportive HR team, specialising in delivering an exceptional employee experience. This full-time, fixed-term role offers the opportunity to drive positive workplace culture, ensuring fair policy application and legal compliance while supporting organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Support
- Provide expert advice to managers on employee relations matters
- Manage end-to-end employee relations casework, including:
- Disciplinary processes
- Grievances
- Investigations and appeals
- Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies

Manager Support
- Assist with absence management and probation reviews
- Process and advise on flexible working requests
- Coach & develop managers on HR best practices
Strategic & Operational Contributions
- Collaborate across HR to enhance employee experience
- Support progression planning and development initiatives
- Assist with payroll administration and related queries
- Collate & analyse HR data, including absence trends and ER metrics
- Provide support for training sessions & workplace workshops (where required)
About You
Essential
- Experience in employee relations within a fast-paced organisation
- Knowledgeable in UK employment law and HR processes
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Positive, approachable, and solutions-focused
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Abile to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Proficient with HR systems & data reporting tools
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 certification (or in progress)
- Payroll administration experience
- Familiarity with international employment law (e.g., Dutch)
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel
