HR Lead – Central Services (Enable)
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HR Lead to join our Central Services team at Enable.

Role Overview
The HR Lead will embed a consistent, robust, and proactive compliance culture, ensuring all HR practices align with legal, regulatory, and internal standards while being practical, scalable, and business-aligned. You will provide hands-on support to the HR function on:
- Complex employee relations
- Change management
- Operational HR activities
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer Location: Staff Yard, Battersea Park Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per annum (depending on experience) Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term (Full-Time) Work Arrangement: 40 hours per week, Onsite
Key Responsibilities
1. Strengthen HR Compliance Framework
- Review & assess current HR policies, procedures, and practices against legal/regulatory requirements.
- Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies within HR systems.
- Develop and implement an updated HR compliance framework.

2. HR Capability & Advisory Support
Act as a trusted advisor to HR teams and managers, delivering:
- Practical, risk-based guidance balancing legal compliance with business needs.
- Upskilling programmes on:
- Employment law
- Data protection (GDPR)
- Safeguarding
- Right to Work
- Share practical toolkits, frameworks, and decision-making guides for compliant HR practices.
Partner in:
- Disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance cases
- Investigations (including formal processes)
- Complex employee relations
- Change initiatives (restructures, TUPE consultations)
Leadership & Development
- Coach HR colleagues and fair, consistent decision-making.
- Support organisational change projects (transitions, policy rollouts).
3. Enhance Risk Management & Audit Readiness
- Establish clear audit trails and documentation standards.
- Develop internal monitoring mechanisms (audits, checklists, dashboards).
- Maintain readiness for internal & external audits.
4. Strengthen Employee Relations Compliance
- Ensure consistent, legally compliant handling of:
- Disciplinaries
- Grievances
- Investigations
- Reduce legal risk through improved processes and documentation.
- Optimise HR systems (e.g., Right to Work tracking, mandatory training records).
5. Systems & Data
- Use HRIS tools to track compliance metrics (e.g., training records, certifications).
- Create HR dashboards to report:
- Compliance trends
- Risk indicators
- Performance data for senior leadership and the board.
Key Deliverables
- A prioritised compliance gap analysis report.
- Updated suite of HR policies and procedures.
- Toolkits & guidance documents (standardised templates).
- Annual HR compliance training programme.
- Audit-ready documentation processes.
- Monitoring framework with KPIs & reporting dashboards.
- Final project report covering outcomes, risks, and recommendations.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent senior HR experience).
- Prior experience in:
- Charity, public sector, or community-focused organisations.
- Restructures, TUPE, or large-scale change programmes.
- Hands-on with:
- HRIS implementation or optimisation.
- Coaching/facilitation techniques.
- Training competence (websites, workshops).
