About the Role

This 16–24 month apprenticeship blends on-the-job training with a structured college programme, delivering a real career foundation.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with the creation and posting of job advertisements across platforms
- Coordinate attendance at recruitment fairs and job-seeking events
- Complete onsite onboarding tasks with speed and precision, including:
- Contract preparation & vetting
- Right-to-work checks (including Tier 2 contractors)
- Verification of security status via (ACP) Access Control Pass procedures
HR Administration
- Draft employment contracts, offer letters, and HR documentation
- Issue documents (follow-ups, revisits, and confirmation)
- Prepare HR reports and presentations
- Process and digitalise documentation (physical, electronic!)
- Update shared systems — (databases, Excel, HR software) — with punctual accuracy
- Streamline administration of company uniforms (ordering, printing, distribution)

Learning & Development
- Assist in organising internal training programmes for employees and managers
- Maintain training records and liaise with the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Support company apprenticeships by communicating with:
- Apprentices’ mentor/manager
- Training providers
Employee Relations
- Provide employees,ūnion reps, and supervisors/managers with access to HR policies & issue updates
- Support discussions around wellbeing, flexible working, organisational change, and contractual changes
- Take detailed notes during consultations and staff meetings
- Organise meetings and ensure accurate records (previous minutes & future agendas)
Reward & Recognition
- Liaise with benefit providers on reward programmes
- Familiarise yourself with payroll/time & attendance systems;
- Support growing elements (under the payroll administrator’s supervision)
- Contribute to internal communications (company newsletter, posters, noticeboards)
Requirements
Must be 16+ years old.
Essential Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Confident communicator — speak, write and spell at a high standard in English
- Attention to detail for sensitive documentation and tasks
- Professional demeanour with strong customer service values (customer-oriented organisations/roles experience preferred)
- Self-reliant and organised: able to balance deadlines & priorities effectively
- Working knowledge of digital diary/hubs, email protocols
- Hand phone skills (customer/public, training available)
- Approachable approach to challenges and problem-solving

Academic Qualifications
- GCSE (Grade C/4+) or equivalent in Maths & English OR
- Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy qualifications
Other Entry Criteria
- Able to access client sites after onboarding and sustain an Access Control Pass (ACP)
- Right to work in the UK (original/valid documentation)
- Commitment to/eligibility for Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship standard

Details
- Contract: Full-time | 39 hours/week
- Hourly Rate: £12.26 (progresses to £13.64 after review period)
- Location: Hinkley Point C, North Petherton
- Selection Process: Two-stage interview (please submit a CV + brief statement on your interest & fit)
