HR Manager

HR Manager

Location: Leeds (with travel to Rugby as required)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 DOE
Job Type: Full-Time

Are you an experienced HR Manager who enjoys being fully involved in every aspect of HR rather than simply overseeing a team? Are you looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, shape the HR function, and grow with a successful business?

Our client is looking for an experienced, proactive, and hands-on HR Manager to take ownership of the HR function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and being involved in all aspects of HR, from day-to-day operations through to strategic people initiatives.

The role is primarily based at the company's Leeds site, however, they also have offices in Rugby, so the successful candidate must be happy to travel between locations when required to support the wider business.

This is a standalone role where you will be responsible for delivering the full HR function, making it ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy and wants the opportunity to put their own stamp on the role. As the business continues to grow, there is genuine potential for this position to develop into a more senior leadership role, with the opportunity to build and lead your own HR team in the future.

The Role

As HR Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking full ownership of the HR function across the business.
  • Managing the day-to-day HR operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services.
  • Being hands-on in every aspect of HR, supporting managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Managing onboarding, performance management, promotions, and offboarding.
  • Managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary investigations and hearings, grievances, absence management, performance management, and appeals.
  • Advising, coaching, and supporting managers to ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with UK employment legislation.
  • Leading recruitment activities, from advertising vacancies through to interviewing and onboarding new employees.
  • Managing and supporting TUPE transfers, organisational change, and consultation processes where required.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
  • Reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Leading HR projects and driving continuous improvement across the HR function.
  • Building strong relationships across the business and acting as a trusted advisor to senior management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
