HR Manager (Part-Time)
Up to £40,000 FTE | Hamilton (Onsite) | 3 Days Per Week
Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be partnering exclusively with Ireland Alloys in the appointment of a HR Manager to join the business on a part-time basis.
This is an opportunity to join a respected Scottish manufacturing business with more than 60 years of industry expertise and a reputation built on quality, integrity, and long-term customer relationships. Ireland Alloys operates from a 200,000 sq. ft facility in Hamilton and is recognised as one of Europe's leading processors of complex metal alloys. The business forms part of the internationally renowned Jacob Metal Group, a global organisation employing around 1,000 people across Europe and North America.
Following significant investment in its facilities, infrastructure, and operations over recent years, the business has returned to profitability and is entering an exciting new phase of development. With the operational foundations now firmly in place, the focus has shifted towards the people agenda, creating an opportunity for a HR Manager to have a genuine impact on the future of the organisation.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the HR Manager will take ownership of the HR function across a workforce of approximately 50 employees.
This is a highly visible role offering the chance to become the trusted HR expert within the business. You'll work closely with senior leaders, support managers across day-to-day people matters, and help introduce greater structure, consistency, and best practice across the employee lifecycle.
For someone who enjoys combining operational HR with meaningful improvement projects, this is a role where you'll be able to see the direct impact of your work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
