HR Manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join us on our WH Smith contract. You’ll manage the HR Operations across Warehouse and Transport in Birmingham and a transport out base in Milton Keynes. You will lead the on-site HR presence and provide efficient and effective support to the site operational teams using digital HR techniques to align culture, talent, structure and processes.
This is a full time, permanent position, and the hours of work are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, however should you prefer there is the option to work 08:30 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Ensure that the site HR team provide a consultancy and advisory service to managers on matters of discipline, grievance and performance improvement, whilst embedding the GXO values and commitments
- Facilitate harmonious employee relations with the site teams and respective trade union representatives to ensure optimum working efficiency within the operation
- Provide full HR generalist support and advice to managers and employees - ensuring a current knowledge of employee legislation and employee relations issues is maintained to ensure the business area remains compliant and risk is mitigated
- Lead, coach and develop the HR and Payroll team; responsible for all people processes during the lifecycle of an employee
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in a similar HR management role, within a fast paced and dynamic logistics environment
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain credible and strong professional relationships at all levels
- Be an effective influencer and communicator, able to positively engage and empower others
- Be adaptable and able to work within a rapidly changing environment
- CIPD Level 5 qualified/part qualified or studying towards
