About The Role
Our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick business is looking for a HR Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, Hinkley Point C. Working closely with senior project leaders, you’ll act as a trusted HR partner, ensuring people strategies, workforce plans and talent initiatives are aligned to key project milestones and business objectives.
As a key member of the people team, you’ll help shape a high-performing and inclusive culture by driving employee engagement, talent management, workforce planning and organisational development activities across a complex alliance environment. You’ll provide expert guidance to leaders, influence decision-making through workforce insights, and ensure robust governance processes are in place to support effective people management.
Location: Flexible UK base with regular travel to Bridgwater, Somerset
What you'll be doing
- Partner with project leaders to deliver people plans that support business objectives and project milestones.
- Build strong relationships across alliance partners, HR teams and specialist centres of expertise.
- Lead workforce planning activities in collaboration with operational and project stakeholders.
- Oversee governance for recruitment and resourcing decisions, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Provide coaching and expert HR advice to leaders on employee relations, performance and people matters.
- Drive talent management, employee engagement and organisational development initiatives across the project.
- Analyse workforce data and produce insights that support effective decision-making and project performance.
- Manage project-specific approvals, people governance processes and HR system changes.
- Champion high-performance working by supporting leaders to consistently apply performance and development practices.
- Lead Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and help foster an inclusive and collaborative working environment.
- Partner with the Work Winning Director and wider business teams to support work-winning activity.

Who we're looking for
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership teams to deliver people strategies and business objectives.
- Strong track record of operating within complex, matrix organisations and diverse workforces.
- Experience leading or supporting organisational change and cultural transformation initiatives.
- Trusted HR professional with the ability to coach, influence and challenge constructively.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how people initiatives support business performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using HR systems and data to drive insight and decision-making.
- Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
