TVL Group is looking for a warm, confident and forward-thinking HR Manager to join our Brentwood-based team. About the Role

As HR Manager, you will be at the heart of our people-first culture, working closely with managers and employees across the Group. You will be both a trusted day-to-day HR partner and a strategic people lead, helping us develop practical policies, strong engagement, effective management support and a positive employee experience across a business of more than 100 employees.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the design, implementation and ongoing development of people policies that are practical, compliant and aligned with our family values.
  • Keep the business informed and prepared by interpreting employment law changes and advising on their practical impact.
  • Take ownership of monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and continuous improvement.
  • Manage sickness and absence reporting, supporting managers with fair, consistent and people-focused processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is handled with care and confidentiality.
  • Build strong relationships across all teams, acting as an approachable and trusted HR partner to employees and managers.
  • Develop learning and development activity, including welcoming onboarding and induction plans that help new starters feel part of the team from day one.
  • Lead employee recognition initiatives that celebrate contribution, teamwork and the values that make our business special.
  • Champion and nurture our strong family culture across all Group businesses, helping it evolve positively as we continue to grow.
  • Develop and maintain regular pulse surveys to measure engagement, listen to employees and turn feedback into meaningful action.
  • Support hiring managers throughout recruitment, helping us attract people who share our standards, values and ambition.
  • Provide HR support across TVL Group companies, ensuring a consistent and joined-up approach to people management.
  • Provide professional advice and practical guidance on employment law, health and safety and other legislative matters.
  • Manage annual driving licence checks for all relevant employees.
  • Manage and develop the Health and Safety policy together with our Operations lead and our outsourced H&S competent person.
  • Support the Managing Director and wider leadership team with other reasonable HR, people and culture duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management as a minimum; CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management, Chartered Member status or equivalent senior HR experience would be highly desirable.
  • Proven experience leading HR or people strategy in a growing organisation, ideally with responsibility for policy development, employee engagement and manager coaching across a workforce of 100+ employees.
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance hands-on delivery and strategic thinking.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • High levels of discretion, professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • A collaborative style, with the confidence to work across departments and build trust at all levels.
  • Clear, thoughtful and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
