What does your job look like?
You'll be the go-to person for everything HR and payroll. From sorting a payroll query on a Monday morning to supporting a manager through a difficult conversation, no two days look the same. As the first point of contact for HR and payroll queries, you'll provide professional support to colleagues throughout their employment, working closely with our payroll provider. It's a hands-on role with real ownership and direct impact on the people around you, one that calls for strong organisation, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to great service.
Your responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate HR and payroll administration, prepare the monthly payroll, respond to payroll-related queries and work closely with Finance and external payroll providers.
- Manage employee relations matters, including absence management, performance issues, disciplinary procedures and other HR casework.
- Keep HR policies, procedures, reports and employee records up to date, while supporting managers with a wide range of HR-related matters.
- Contribute to HR projects and the continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Support the recruitment of drivers and operational staff.

What do we expect from you?
- Experience in a broad HR role, including end-to-end UK payroll and employee relations case management.
- A good understanding of UK employment law and payroll legislation.
- Someone who Connects by building strong relationships, Commits by taking ownership and delivering on promises, and Creates by continuously looking for better ways of working.
- Organised, accurate and confident managing a varied workload independently, while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
- A clear communicator who builds trust with employees, managers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience within logistics, manufacturing or another operational environment is an advantage.
