HR Officer (UK & Ireland) – The Role
The varied role of HR Officer (UK & I) is an integral member of the Creative Technology UK People team. We are seeking an individual who can provide expert advice, knowledge, and support in all aspects of:
- Employee relations
- Payroll administration
- People management
- Diversity & Inclusion (D&I),
- Recruitment
- Compensation and benefits
- Learning & Development (L&D)
- Other HR activities and initiatives
Whilst offering general assistance to all employees and managers.

This is a fast-paced, rewarding position within a dynamic People team. The ideal candidate must be:

The HR Officer will apply their expertise in employment laws, working practices, and regulations to safeguard the business and its employees.
Main Responsibilities
Payroll
- Process monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines
- Maintain and update payroll records for:
- New starters/leavers
- Salary changes
- Overtime and billable days
- Deductions
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., National Minimum Wage)
- Calculate and process:
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
- Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
- Shared Parental Pay (ShPP)
- Other entitlements
- Liaise with external payroll provider, Cintra
- Resolve employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
- Generate and archive payroll reports for management and audits

HR Generalist Support
- Provide first-line HR support on policies and procedures throughout the employee lifecycle:
- Absence management
- Performance
- Learning & Development (L&D)
- Employee benefits
- Assist with employee relations, including:
- Disciplinary and grievance processes
- Escalating matters to senior management where required
- Maintain accurate records in HR systems (e.g., Employment Hero, edays), including absence tracking and reporting
- Support recruitment activities, including:
- Advertising roles
- Shortlisting candidates
- Assisting with interviews
- Promote and support:
- D&I initiatives
- Fair recruitment practices
- Onboarding responsibilities:
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters
- Correspondence adhering to employment legislation
- Build trust and collaborate with employees and managers to align with HR objectives and organisational goals
- Coordinate and administer learning activities
- Contribute to company-wide projects, such as:
- Inclusion and D&I initiatives
- Corporate responsibility
- Support:
- Employee engagement and well-being
- The Social Committee
- Welfare provisions (e.g., weekly fruit orders)
- Health & Safety activities (e.g., hearing tests for staff)

Skills / Qualifications
Experience
- Proven track record in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience in HR/People administration, with focus on payroll
- Desirable: CIPD qualification or minimum 3 years in active HR practice
Competencies
- Detailed-oriented, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Strong multitasking and time management
- Systems proficiency:
- Knowledge of payroll/HR platforms (e.g., Cintra, Employment Hero, edays)
- Confident with Excel reports and Microsoft Office suits
- Leadership competencies:
- Clear communication
- Empathy and interpersonal skills
- Ability to Manage confidentiality and handle sensitive matters

- Adhere to deadlines
- Thrive under pressure, and prioritise tasks efficiently
