Job Description
Sysco (whose UK operating companies include Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF & Medina) are currently recruiting a people-focused and engaging HR Partner to join our HR team. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role partners closely with site leadership teams to deliver a proactive HR service that supports business performance, colleague engagement, and organisational growth.
Role Overview
As an HR Partner, you will provide expert guidance and coaching to managers across all aspects of people management. You will use people data and insights to identify trends, improve retention and attendance, support talent development, and ensure a positive employee experience. Working alongside HR Centres of Excellence, you will help deliver key people initiatives across the full employee lifecycle.
We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements, which can be discussed further during the interview process. Due to the collaborative nature of the role and the need to build strong relationships with stakeholders, regular presence at our Grantham, Lincolnshire office is required, therefore candidates should be within a commutable distance.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and deliver people projects and initiatives aligned to the Sysco GB and Supply Chain & Operations People Plan.
- Partner, coach, and challenge leaders on all aspects of people management to achieve successful business outcomes.
- Support and embed the full employee lifecycle in partnership with HR Centres of Excellence.
- Use people data and insights to identify trends, highlight opportunities, and recommend solutions.
- Support recruitment activities, ensuring we attract colleagues with the right skills, behaviours, and values.
- Ensure an effective and consistent onboarding experience for new colleagues and line managers.
- Support the implementation of talent and development programmes to build leadership capability.
- Facilitate talent management and succession planning activities to strengthen talent pipelines and support colleague development.
- Drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Support line managers with complex employee relations matters, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
- Analyse retention and absence data, implementing plans to reduce attrition and improve attendance.
- Support the delivery of change and improvement initiatives in line with best practice.
- Drive colleague engagement through listening groups, engagement action plans, and communication forums.
- Manage HR and Payroll Administration resources where applicable, ensuring compliance with HR processes and GDPR requirements.

About You
You'll have a strong HR generalist background, with up-to-date employment law knowledge and experience supporting managers in a fast-paced operational environment. You will be confident coaching and influencing stakeholders, managing employee relations matters, and using people data to drive business decisions.
We're looking for someone who is commercially aware, highly organised, and passionate about creating positive colleague experiences. You will be comfortable working collaboratively across functions and supporting change, engagement, talent, and performance initiatives.
You will ideally have:
- Ideally, you will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or be working towards it; however, significant relevant HR experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualification
- Good knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Experience coaching and supporting managers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting talent, engagement, and change initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
