We provide integrated and ground-breaking solutions for the civil engineering and construction sectors, with specialisms in rail, highways, airports, marine, defence, energy, water, and environmental infrastructure.
We are looking for a motivated and creative HR Project Assistant to join our HR team—an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their career looking to apply their communication skills in a business environment. Reporting into our Head of HR Services, you will support the delivery of engaging communications that connect employees to key HR initiatives, helping ensure projects are well understood and successfully adopted across the business.
This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate in HR or Communications/English or a related field to gain hands-on experience in internal communications and HR projects.
Please note that this is a site based at our Hoddesdon HQ and is a 1-year fixed term contract.
About our role
- Support the creation of engaging internal communications (emails, intranet articles, presentations)
- Assist in delivering communication plans for HR projects and people initiatives
- Help coordinate project activities, including tracking actions and maintaining timelines
- Collaborate with HR and project teams to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and engaging
- Maintain and update communication content across internal platforms
- Gather feedback on communications to help improve engagement and effectiveness
- Ensure all communications are aligned with company tone, values, and brand standards

About you
This role is ideal for someone looking to kick-start their career in communications within an HR or corporate setting.
- A degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field or HR
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
- A creative mindset with an interest in engaging audiences
- Confidence using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable:
- Internship, placement, or project experience in communications or content creation
- Familiarity with social media, newsletters, or intranet platforms
- Interest in HR, employee engagement, or organizational culture
